Poker Players Could See Action by Fall
NULL , Thursday, April 12, 2007
If voters in West Virginia's racetrack counties approve table games in June, gamblers at three of the four tracks could be playing poker by fall.

M-T-R Gaming President Ted Arneault says he'd initially install about 90 table games at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort if voters in Hancock County give the go-ahead. Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center in Nitro says it could have 30 poker tables operating as soon as the Lottery Commission approves them.

About 40 other games would follow within a month. Also, Wheeling Island Racetrack and Gaming Center has said it could have table games in place by November First. Charles Town Races and Slots will start out with 75 table games, most likely in the first quarter of 2008.

M-T-R also owns Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pennsylvania.
